Adeniyi Olagunju is a Reader in Perinatal Systems Pharmacology at the University of Liverpool and a member of the Centre of Excellence for Long-acting Therapeutics (CELT), where he leads the Perinatal Pharmacology Group. His research aims to improve medicine use during pregnancy and the early postpartum period through the integration of clinical research, PBPK modelling, and human-relevant new approach methodologies. By generating model-informed evidence on drug exposure and safety for mothers, fetuses, and newborns, his work addresses critical evidence gaps that continue to limit clinical guidance and drive off-label medicine use.
